National Counselors Week

What do you love about your role?

Being able to build a strong relationship with my students so that when I provide them with skills and support, it is meaningful, impactful, and something they can understand because someone understands who they are as a person.

How do you support students?

I often social emotional lessons to academic skills such as working together in groups, giving their best effort, and keeping a positive growth mindset.

What encouragement do you want to offer students and families?

I would like to offer to the knowledge that there are many possibilities available to them and multiple ways for them to achieve their dreams. There will always be support that is available

Thank You Ms. Nancy

Community member Nancy Van Ast has been bringing books every week to stock the Hunley Park Free Book Library. Students were able to pick a book or two each week to keep at home. Nancy's does this to encourage a lifelong love of reading for each of our students, and because of her dedication, each student has added many books to their home libraries. They even thought reading to their younger siblings. We hate to see you leave, but we understand that you must take care of your health. We appreciate you, Miss Nancy! Your dedication to our students did not go unnoticed! Thank You
